Joey Kinder - Living the Climbing Life with Sterling Rope from sterling rope on Vimeo.

Joey Kinder has been on the Sterling Rope team for over ten years! In that time we have featured him in several ads, released a signature t-shirt with his personally designed twist on our familiar yellow and black logo, and now featured him in this Sterling Rope team video.
In this episode Joey steps in front of the lens (props to Collette) and reflects on being “on the road again”. While in Nice, Southern France, he talks about checking out new routes, testing out new areas, sometimes sending, sometimes ‘sucking’, but always psyched on trying! His rope of choice while on a three month trip, the Velocity 9.8mm.
Joe and his girlfriend Collette live ‘the climbing life’! Follow along in this video series filmed and edited by Joey Kinder while he travels the globe connecting with some of the best climbers in the world who, like him, have all chosen Sterling Rope.
Look for future Sterling Rope team videos from Joe Kinder in 2012 and beyond.

Yuji Hirayama is a bona fide rock star—the kind with grit on his hands, open air all around, and no net below. A competition climber whos scaled peaks in China, Italy, Kuala Lumpur, Switzerland and elsewhere, Yuji was World Cup champion in 2000. Hes now revered as a granite crack climber and boulderer, able to analyze and exploit the tiniest seams. Because just climbing isnt adrenaline-charged enough, Yuji is also a speed climber. In 2008, he and ascent partner Hans Florine set a new record for ascending the Nose of El Capitan, blazing up the 1000-meter wall in 2:37:05, beating the previous record by two minutes and bettering their 2002 mark by a staggering five minutes.
